Homemade Hummus

I have made many types of hummus, but none that I loved so much that I was able to finish the entire bowl. So, after some experimenting, I think I have come up with it – and yes, I licked the bowl clean. Enjoy, and feel free to share your recipe as well.

Artichoke Basil Hummus

2 cans garbanzo or great northern beans

1 can artichoke hearts

1 small clove garlic

2 Tbsp Tahini

1 tsp lemon juice

¼ cup olive oil

¼ cup basil

3 tsp thyme or sage

¼ tsp ground cumin

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

½ tsp Dijon mustard

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

Cook beans until soft. Mix all ingredients in a food processor.

For best flavor let hummus sit refrigerated for a few hours before serving.

Serve with pita chips or vegetables.
